I am delighted to welcome you to the website of the Institute of Religion and Critical Inquiry at the Australian Catholic University. The Institute is physically located on leafy Victoria Parade, very near the main building of the Melbourne campus. You are most welcome to visit us here. But you can also visit us electronically through our website. As an internationally focused institution of a multi-campus university, we strongly encourage you to do so.
The Institute is a unique place of research in the Australian context. It brings together a multi-disciplinary team of scholars who are passionate about carrying out research on central issues in the fields of philosophy, religion and theology. I invite you to look at the four programs in which our research is organised: Biblical and Early Christian Studies, Medieval and Early Modern Studies, Philosophy, and Religion and Theology. You can also study the profiles of our researchers. They are keen to engage with you and show you how the research they are doing contributes to studies and conversations about the world of the mind and of the spirit. You can join in formally through enrolment in higher degrees or more informally though participation in events that we organise. In these various ways the Institute carries out its objective of advancing understanding of our world and imagining ways of improving it.
